With iP67, iPhone 7 can be submerged in up to only one meter of water for a maximum of 30 minutes. Hence, I make sure to use a reliable waterproof case for breaking the shackles. A few days back, I got Dry Skinz waterproof case for iPhone 7 for review. Having given this new case a fair amount of run, I think it’s time to take it through for a hands-on review. Has this waterproof case what it takes to be a trusted swim suit of your iPhone? More after the jump.
Dry Skinz Waterproof Case for iPhone 7 Review
Impressive Design
When I first put my hands on Dry Skinz, it felt like a highly protective case. The rugged frame with the clear back successfully passed my first test with flying colors. Responsive buttons, precise cutout for Lightning port and speaker ports are perfectly in place; allowing you to use your device without any hindrance. However, I found it a bit inconvenient to click the Home button on my device. In fact, I had to try a couple of times to get it right. This case features highly touch the sensitive glass on the front. Hence you can comfortably navigate through your device. Besides, you won’t have any problem in using 3D Touch on your smartphone. Claimed to be six times stronger than standard glass, it’s fully capable of providing the reliable shield to the touchscreen against impact and scratch. With oleophobic coating, the glass is anti-fingerprint and dust resistant. Besides, it’s easy to clean. The availability of four colors like black, white, blue and red makes it easier for you to pick the right match for your device.
Safeguards Your Device Against Water Submersion up to 2 Meters for 1 hour
With IP8X rating, it protects your smartphone against water submersion of up to 2 meters (6.5 feet) for one hour. It’s good enough to let you enjoy water sports to your heart’s liking. The case performed reliably during my test; offering the needed protection to my device. I took for a long ride during the fun-loving swimming time the other day, and it did live up to my billing.
Three Layers of Solid Protection
Powered by three layers of casing, this waterproof case provides full-body protection to your device. Hence, if your device ever slips out of your hands and have a nasty encounter with bumps, the shockproof design would come to rescue it. Despite having such a solid construction, the case doesn’t look bulky at all. To me, this is a very important aspect as hulking cover turns me off as I don’t feel comfortable to carry my device. With the soft outer shell, Dry Skinz offers enhanced grip, thereby reducing any chance of a slip-up. So, while making the most of your swimming time, you can comfortably hold your device.
Better Acoustic
Music is what keeps me cheered up all the time. Whether I’m walking near the beach or taking deep dives into swimming pools, I love to catch up with some of my all-time favorite songs. Hence, I never compromise with acoustic output quality of any waterproof case. Throughout the test, I found the acoustic output and sound clarity to be pretty good. I didn’t have any problem in listening to songs or communicating with my friends.
Verdict
Except for one blemish (slightly inconsistent Home button), Dry Skinz has admirably stood up to the mark during my acid test. The waterproof case has pretty much ticked off all the important boxes. Three main qualities have stood out in this case: Strong built-up, neat design and highly-responsive glass. That apart, it delivers unhindered acoustic output which ensures you are able to communicate or listen to songs without any disturbance. If you are willing to buy a top-notch waterproof case for your iPhone 7, you shouldn’t hesitate in giving Dry Skinz a serious look as it’s packed in with all the must-have ingredients.
